Frequently Asked Questions
Can I look at or test a machine before I buy?
Sure! Visitors are welcome at our workshop/display room in Springsure, Central Queensland. You can also send us a sample of your material to test if you want to be sure that a machine will give you the required finish on a specific project.
Where are the machines made?
The machines are made in China, within an American/Chinese partnership. The Cowboy Outlaw and CB3200 were designed with a lot of input from the American side. There is a strong Western influence on the company with regards to quality and service.
Some parts and accessories that we have developed ourselves are made here in Central Queensland.
What warranty will I receive?
Most machines carry a 12 months return to base warranty for parts and labour, meaning we will cover the cost of repairs but not shipping. In the unlikely event that a part fails – if it is easy to replace, we may send the part to you and help you fit it with phone or video calls, saving you the hassle, cost and time of shipping the machine back. In more complex failures the machine will need to be shipped at your cost back to our workshop for repairs. For our complete Shipping, Refund and Privacy terms please look over here.
Where can I get my machine serviced?
You can come back to us at any time for help and advice with your machine. Our back-up support and service continues long after the warranty period expires. We do not have partnerships with sewing machine mechanics in other cities however the main points of servicing are easy to do yourself. Keeping a sewing machine oiled and cleaned are important aspects of ongoing maintenance to keep your machine running smoothly.
We have created videos on Youtube to assist you in understanding how to operate and maintain your machine. Our aim is that through these videos (and phone support if needed) you will develop a good understanding of the workings of your machine and are able to diagnose and trouble-shoot common issues like thread tension and timing yourself.
How can I place an order?
Some items can be purchased directly through our website www.sunvalleytrading.com.au Alternatively you can order by contacting us through email, messenger or phonecall. We require your name, postal address, email address and contact phone number to create your invoice.
If purchasing a new sewing machine we recommend talking with us prior to ordering about your intended use, needs and wants so we can match you with the best machine to meet your unique circumstances.
How can I pay for my order?
Our preferred payment method is internet bank transfer. You will find our bank account details on the bottom of the invoice. If purchasing through the website you can also pay via Paypal and credit/debit cards.
When will I receive my order?
Items sent by courier are usually sent on a Monday if we receive payment by Thursday the week before. Freight goes straight to Brisbane Monday night and is then distributed via the TNT network. On the east coast freight times are typically 4-6 working days, to other areas allow 5-10 working days. For smaller items that can be posted with Australia Post these are usually sent out within 2 business days. Allow 5-10 working days for delivery. We will have a tracking number, unless specified otherwise on your invoice.
How will my machine arrive?
Sewing machines are couriered on cut-to-size pallets, depending on the machine the total parcel weight is often around 100kg. Amongst all the padding and packaging the table is screwed to the pallet. Generally the sewing machine head is in a Styrofoam box and other accessories will be packaged/boxed too.
